Welcome to the NEW home of The Homeschool Mother’s Journal! I am so pleased that you are with us today! If you are not familiar with the journal writing prompts and guidelines, please see this post.

New Linkup Day

One change you may have noticed right away is that the new linkup is Saturday through Tuesday. I decided to make this change to give you moms a chance to finish out your week and reflect on your thoughts. I hope this idea sits well with you!

New Feature

Each week I will choose 1 or more posts to highlight the following week (depending on the number of entries submitted). It will be at random and hope that can help make this community even more fun!

Post Chosen to Highlight:

This week I want to highlight Mountain of Grace Homeschooling. You can read about their trip to see family — to include a celebration of a Great Uncles 99th birthday! As well as getting some chickens after their trip. Fun stuff!

Summer Journal Graphics Are Up!

In light of the summertime upon us — I have made a set of summer graphics to use as well. Please be sure to link back to the journal (here) when using the graphics! Thank you!

This Weeks Featured Guest

This week we are featuring Joan from Our School at Home.

In my life this week…
It’s been A MESS! Some of our best friends (a husband, wife and their 12-year-old daughter) are moving in with us for the summer, and Wednesday and Thursday were full of packing, relocating, and more. Added to that, our 13-year-old daughter, Sarah, broke her arm on Sunday! We need our summer to be a lot calmer from here on out!

In our homeschool this week…
As life learners, we really don’t have “summer vacation.” It’s been a great experience talking about arm bones, doing business selling old stuff online, and more.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
You mean besides the orthopedist? And our friends (and new roomies)? We’ve been to the alpaca farm where Sarah has 4-H; even though she can’t do everything, she is adamant about staying in practice with Gia, her alpaca. Sarah is also taking part in a Lego movie-making camp this week, and debuted her film, “The Island,” on a big screen on Friday at the end of camp!

My favorite thing this week was…
Honestly? The kind words from a friend helping with the move this week about our house and how nice she thought it was. I was feeling pretty down about it and it was exactly what I needed to hear!

Things I’m working on…
Having yard sales!! Not only did we clear out a full floor of our house for our friends, but they’re getting ready to move to Puerto Rico as missionaries and are selling almost everything they own, so we’re on a HUGE yard-sale mission!

I’m grateful for…
A home with room to spare and an AMAZING husband who helps make it so! Also, for Star Trek on Netflix, which is helping our family unwind each evening.

Bless you for opening your home to this family! That’s never easy, but very obedient and loving! I hope it was a simple break on her arm? That’ll through her for a loop this summer, poor thing. I hope she gets lots of signatures on it and much sympathy.

I want to thank this site for featuring my blog last week. It ‘s very kind of you to share different sites!

I’m confused. What time Tuesday does link up close? So sad I missed this one. And how did it get to be Tuesday already anyway?!
