The First Christmas Night is a wonderful addition to any Christian family’s Christmas book reading tradition. The book is a beautiful poetic retelling of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem written to the lyrical rhyming of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. The poem begins with the arrival of Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem and winds though Christ’s birth, the angels’ appearance to the shepherds, and the visit by the Wise Men. The simple, yet elegant, verses will appeal to little ones and are accompanied by the rich acrylic illustrations of Christine Kornacki.
This book is an instant hit in our home with our three children ages 5, 6, and 12. We are adding this book to our traditional reading of Christmas books on Christmas Eve!
