King’s Faith DVD Review {&Giveaway}

Kings Faith

King’s Faith

King’s Faith is a wonderful story of God’s redemption power no matter our circumstances. The movie is about a teenage boy, by the name of Brendan King, that had been in and out of foster homes, arrested nine times, and put in a juvenile penitentiary. Upon Brendan’s release from the juvenile penitentiary, he was blessed to be taken into foster care by a wonderful family that helps love him and show him who Jesus is. During the movie we watch Brendan struggle with the temptation to fall into his sinful past and not walk the path God has destined him to walk. The beautiful thing about this movie is that both Brendan and the family who take him in are able to use grief from their past to see God’s love in their lives.

Because the movie is rated PG-13, we only watched it with our oldest child (8th grade daughter) while her two younger brothers were sleeping. It was a good movie to reinforce the biblical values we are teaching her at home through everyday living and through our lifestyle of homeschooling. It gave our daughter some hard questions to think about and see how easy it is to make a bad decision and how quickly consequences can come. On the flip side, it gave her an understanding of the hope that we have in Jesus. It was a great conversation starter for our young tween daughter.

        No problem. I wouldn’t have even asked if Rafflecopter had been less vague than “Starting soon.”

        Also, to answer the giveaway question, my husband and I have been feeling led in the direction of youth ministry. So, if God gives us that ministry before this movie would be “old,” I’d watch it with them. Otherwise, I have a 14-year old brother, and a 13-year old nephew. So I have plenty of young people to watch it with/loan it to. Also, I just like movies.

    Wow! The trailer is awesome! My husband and I would watch it then decide if we’d want our boys to see it.

    I would watch this with all of my family. It looks like a very touching and moving story. We could all use a boost to our faith.

    Thank you for reviewing this! I am always looking for those rare finds of movies to watch to bring home the truths we are trying to model and teach… consequences seem to be that most difficult to grasp concept in our home! Blessings!

    Whoops – left out I have two daughters, but our oldest is the one I am most excited to share this movie with. :)

    I’d love to watch this with my oldest daughter (middle schooler). I think it would especially be helpful to her because 18 months ago, I was in a bad wreck that resulted in me being bedridden for 3 months, brain surgery, and a long recovery. She’s had a really hard time with holding onto anger and trying to forgive the teenager who hit me. From what I’ve read, the message in this might help her!
