I received this book for free in exchange for review. The opinions expressed are my own, period.
Audrey Bunny is a beautifully told story about the real issues that children (and adults alike) face when it comes to “imperfections”. This book is about a sweet stuffed-toy bunny that has been sitting in the barrel of a toy store for a long time. The stuffed bunny is convinced that no one is buying her because of an imperfection she has on her body. Then one day a sweet little girl comes into the store and buys the bunny, naming her Audrey. Audrey continues to try and hide her imperfection as she is afraid if her new owner sees is that she will return her to the store. However, to Audrey’s surprise, her imperfection is the reason the little girl decided to purchase her and take her home.
This book is a great read for young children. I have read it at least 50 times to our two youngest children, both boys, ages 5 and 6. It has prompted wonderful discussions about the simple fact that God has designed each one of us perfectly, and there is no such thing as imperfection when it comes to the way people look.
The Parent Connection (last page of the book) shares discussion questions and activities reinforcing God’s love for us. This has also been a great source for conversation, study, and prayer with our two youngest children.
