A Letter To My Friends
Hello friends! I am so excited and happy to inform you that tomorrow marks the first day of my baby, So You Call Yourself a Homeschooler?, re-launching as a group website. I want to take the time to thank those of you who have been with me since the beginning. I started this website nearly two years ago with no idea of what it would become. All I knew was that God was telling me to do so. And I am so glad that I obeyed! Through this process I was able to make many great new online friends, reach out and touch the lives of many, share my story and be blessed by YOU in return, as well as many countless other blessings along the way. And beautiful thing? It was all God’s idea.
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 19:21 NIV
Many of you may not know this, but I really did not want to start a blog. I will never forget the night that God began to plant the seed of blogging into my heart. It was about two weeks before my husband was set to deploy to Afghanistan in June of 2011. My first thought? Ummm…No. But as I began to think these thoughts, my heart convicted me. Needless to say, about a week after I said good bye to my husband for the 5th time as he went away to war, I began to share my heart with the world – one little blog post at a time.
Since that very first little blog post, I have grown a lot as a writer, blogger, and person. I have been through a lot of ups and downs – but one thing remained the same: God is still in control of my life and His divine protection has kept me and my family safe. His love is still very real and His peace ever present in my heart. His beauty remains through the tough times and ashes in my life. And for that, I am forever grateful.
Today I am announcing that my solo project is over. I have had a lot of planning and praying to do as I began this transition, but am very excited at the new adventure! I have some amazing contributors that will now be blessing you with their wisdom on a plethora of homeschooling topics! You can read a bit about them and meet each one on the Contributors page. Please take some time to acquaint yourself with them and encourage them as they prepare to minister to the hearts of those willing to embrace them. I am excited to see how God has put together this beautiful masterpiece and honored to steward it as well.
I love you, dear friends, and am grateful to continue on this journey with you and my fabulous team of writers. God is amazing and I believe He is going to continue doing BIG things here at So You Call Yourself a Homeschooler?! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support.
